Microsoft Windows Vista

Hello, I am trying to boot up my old Windows Vista PC with the goal of transferring all the old files off of it.  However, I am having problems getting it to start up.  When I press the power button, a solid orange light appears and it stays there.  I can hear the fan running, but nothing happens on the monitor nor does the light change color.  There is a solid green light in the back of the computer underneath the power chord, but this light turns off when the power button is pushed.  I have tried unplugging all the chords connected to the computer and reattaching them.  I have also tried turning off the power strip where the chord is plugged into and waiting 30 seconds before turning it back on.  Neither of these strategies have worked.  I saw one strategy saying to tap on a green box on the inside of the computer, but I'm not sure what is meant by this or what the green box is.  I would greatly appreciate some suggestions for starting up my desktop PC that have had success.  Thank you!

Hello

I don't know who is saying this, and what exactly it is all about, but tapping on something on a computer to get it started seems pretty silly to me!

Out of curiosity, do you have a link to this "" thing "" ??

The small light on the back is the power supply, if it's flashing it has a problem, if it goes out completely, I'm not sure, either it's the power supply that is out of order. , or another element Having said that .

if it doesn't boot anymore, you just want to recover the data, just remove the hard drive, and use an adapter.

Hard drive / USB, this allows it to be connected to another computer If your hard drive is working you can get what's on it!
