HP Desktop - M01-F1006na

Hi,

I tried the solution from the virtual assistant, to open the case, remove the memory card and replace it again, it did not work.

It cannot even open the bios screen or windows, so cannot use the HP hardware checking tool or any other.

Before this error, the pc was very slow, freezing screen and stopping, so today I opened for the 1st time, it was very dusty, and carefully cleaned  away the dust. I had a look at the memory card to see what kind as I was thinking to buy more memory to add it on. I was surprised my bios has said the motherboard had 4 slots when I only saw 2 ,

What can I do?  Is there anything I can do myself to solve it quickly?

I do need that computer and the data I have there.

Thank you very much in advance

Hi @Asimova

It sounds like the 8 GB DDR4 1.2V 2666 factory memory module has failed. There is also a chance of CPU memory controller failure but this is very unusual.

Make sure the memory modules and memory slots are clean. Dust and gunk on either component will cause problems.

I would try the factory memory module in each MB memory slot to see if the PC will POST.

You can buy compatible replacement memory for this MB at Crucial Memory. I can't verify if your MB will support 32 GB memory modules. It looks like 8 GB or 16 GB memory modules will work.

HDD data should be okay once you fix the memory problem.

Regards
