Every once in a while, when I boot up the computer, I get a message that is too long to read before it disappears. One item that I do get to see is that I am supposed to tap the enter key several times. When I do that, the computer starts to run with the fans. I have run the diagnostics on the computer, and nothing seems to be wrong. If I put my ear to the side of the computer, I can hear a soft whirr, so I guess the computer fans are running. Am I right, or did I miss something.?

If you can, the next time it does this, write down SOME of the message and post that here. That will give us some information about what MIGHT be the problem.

You posted this in Desktops, so if that is the case, then open the case of the desktop and look at the fans, There will be at least one case fan and one CPU fan. Confirm which of the fans is not running -- that one needs to be replaced. If ALL of the fans are running, this means a fan sensor has failed -- so then, you need to go into the BIOS/UEFI settings and look for the fan notification setting and disable it.
