Hello Everyone,
Second time posting here, exciting times...:-)
Anyway, I recently purchased a HP Omen X Gaming Desktop being model number YOM14AA amd I have had it for almost 6 weeks and it just goes like a train !
Anyway, about a week and a half after I purchased this gaming desktop, a message popped up on my HP Support Assistant App and the BIOS was one of the things that I could update. I did this and everything went through smooth..Now, my PC site on my left hand side on a stand alone side table/desk and for the first 3 weeks of my new PC, I actually had a serious left ear infection and I couldnt hear a lot out of that ear and the little that I could hear, I didnt really notice much nor any noise coming from inside the box.
After my left ear issue fully healed, I then started to notice a noise from inside the box, not much I thought but it was like a pump of some sort going away I'm not fully sure. About a week later I took it to a computer store and the tech checked it and said nothing to worry about, its just the liquid cooling pump going away its all good nothing to really worry about.
The nosie still persists, not major any anything but I just have this nagging feeling that with what little hearing I did have in my left ear when I purchased this PC I didnt really notice any noise coming from the box and then I updated the BIOS, my left ear all cleared up and now the noise is noticeable, not major like I said but noticeable.
What I want to do just for my own piece of mind is just rollback for now to my original/previous BIOS version when I frst got this gaming PC as the noise itself does come from the motherboard area and as was explianed to me, the BIOS and motherboard are in sync with things when BIOS is updated and I would hate to think updating the BIOS has made this noise come out.
Is anyone able to provide me a link or instructions as to how I can rollback to my previous BIOS version please and if it helps, my current BIOS version is F.04
If anyone can help with how to rollback to my former/previous/original BIOS version it would be appreciated and thank you for reading.
Cheers,
Chris

Hello, @Pluggerb69 – Hope you are well 🙂
Welcome back to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel!
Going through your post, I see that you are looking to roll back the BIOS on your HP Omen. do not worry, I'm here to help 🙂
I would suggest you follow this document to restore the BIOS: http://hp.care/2bXONjA
You can either recover the BIOS using a key press combination or by downloading a replacement BIOS file.
That should do the trick. Let me know!
Cheers 🙂

Hello Dvortex,
Thank you for your response, much appreciated.
I went and had a look at that link in your response and it comes up that it is for a Notebook PC. I'm just not 100% sure if that is the one I should be looking for with regards to my HP Omen X Gaming Desktop.
Now, I could be mistaken here and maybe my gaming PC just falls under this so could I just get you to confirm please that the link you sent me inyour reposne does relate to my HP Omen X Gaming PC. Once I hear back from you, I will then go and ake a closer look at what I need to do.
The other thing that I have found is that the minor noise may actualy be the liquid cooler doing its thing but I'm not wanting to take any chances and make sure that I cover all bases.
Cheers,
Chris

Hello, @Pluggerb69
Thanks for the update!
The steps are similar for both the notebook and desktop PC. Use the key press combination to recover the BIOS. Check http://hp.care/2p1Ij73
Also, here is the software and driver download page for your particular product: http://hp.care/2rk38fd
Let me know if that helps!
Cheers 🙂
