If your PC was made in 2016 or later, see if it is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool:

Just so you know, a Factory Reset erases all the files and folders, but it does not REMOVE them. They are still ALL there, just hidden from Windows.  So, if that is OK with you, then a Factory Reset will do what you want.  But if you want all the files and folders physically REMOVED, a Factory Reset will not do that.

 

I mention this because folks ask about a Factory Reset when they are selling or giving away their PC to someone else -- being unaware that with a $50 (USD) Data Recovery app, the new PC owner can recovery nearly ALL of that data, easily.

...and if that's the case the only safe thing to do is to remove the hard drive and smash it with a hammer.

 

That is the only way to ensure no one will ever be able to steal your personal data.

 

That is why you will find many used/off-lease PC's for sale on eBay with no hard drives installed.
