I use thin scale to provide customer service and am receiving error message 'Windows couldn't connect to the Group Policy Client Services'. I have verified the registry and believe all the necessary components are there. Tried to connect again with no luck. Checked Group Policy Client properties and the startup type is Automatic but the service status is Stopped and the option to Start the service is not functioning (cannot select). So I ran gpupdate and it failed. It tells me "To diagnose the failure, reiew the event log or run GPRESULT /H GPReport.html' I try and run that but get no results - I am stuck on how to get Group Policy Client to run. If I can get it to run I am hoping it will fix my SRW log in issue.

Group Policy Editor does not come installed on Windows Home versions, only Windows Pro, and the Home version is very comon.
To see what version you have, press the Windows key (the one with the window symbol on it) and enter "R" (without the quotes), and then type "winver" (without the quotes). The popup window will have the version information.
