Hi @Cagilch3735,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your monitor is not displaying anything or is showing an error message, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and get it back online.
Check Connections:
- Ensure that all cables connecting your monitor to the computer (VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) are securely plugged in on both ends.
- If your monitor has multiple input sources, make sure you've selected the correct input source using the monitor's menu buttons.
Power Cycle:
- Turn off both your computer and the monitor.
- Unplug the power cables from both the computer and the monitor.
- Wait for about 30 seconds to a minute.
- Plug the power cables back in and turn on the monitor and computer.
Test on Another Device:
- If possible, connect your monitor to another computer or device to see if it works. This will help determine whether the issue is with the monitor or the computer.
Graphics Card Issues:
- If your computer has a dedicated graphics card, make sure it's properly seated in its slot on the motherboard.
- Try reseating the graphics card if you're comfortable doing so.
Safe Mode:
- Boot your computer into Safe Mode. This can help determine if the issue is related to a driver or software problem.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues. Visit the graphics card manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers.
Check for Hardware Problems:
- If possible, try connecting your computer to a different monitor to see if the issue persists. This will help you determine if the problem is with the monitor itself or something else.
Monitor's Built-in Settings:
- Some monitors have built-in settings that might be affecting the display. Use the monitor's menu buttons to reset the settings to their default values.
Check for Faulty Cables or Adapters:
- Sometimes, faulty cables or adapters can cause display problems. Try using different cables or adapters to connect your monitor.
Check Power Source:
- Ensure that the power outlet you're using for the monitor is working. Plug in a different device to confirm.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
