I know that the screen can be flip from accidentally pressing keys, and I know how to flip the screen back to normal. But I want to know if there is a way to slop this or just permanently stop the screen rotation.
Sometimes I will even hear youtube videos play even though the screen is closed and when I turn it back on, many tabs were all over the place, apps started to log itself back it (discord, steam, Spotify, etc).
I need this help because when I close the laptop I am pretty sure that the keys are getting pressed by the screen. To stop the screen rotation from happening again I need to find a way to permanently stop the rotation, lock the screen so even when the keys are getting pressed when it's off it won't rotate or disable something in the settings.
please please respond.
-Sincerely, Milo

solution:
(there is no stopping the screen rotation, we will just have to go to settings to fix the screen when it is upside down every time it happens)

Hello
if I understood the problem correctly
You can go to the settings, there you have the tablet mode
a box: when I connect select: use desktop mode
Below when this device turns on or off
you have here 'always ask me for confirmation before changing
Sorry, in French, but it may help you:

Well have you tried at least?
this should make it possible to ensure that the computer works like a simple computer, therefore, the tablet mode is blocked, and the screen no longer says to run!
If so, you may have a serious concern, or whatever else !!

sorry for the back and forth reply,
I tried and I do not think it is solved because I have seen other people having the same issue of their screen being upside down when they turn it on. I do not think the issue is about tablet mode but more of because the screen turned upside down when we on it, most likely from hitting a combination of keys on the keyboard. So either HP can give us a setting so this can be disabled or find out how to disable it ourselves.

sorry, but there I do not understand anything more about what you are indicating ..
If the screen is in desktop mode, it should not move.
Now I have nothing to verify, maybe something is possible, but I admit I don't understand your problem anymore!
What is the exact model of this computer?

sorry that you did not understand, what I am saying is when I turn on my laptop (envy x360 convertible 13") the screen was upside down. When I was searching for a solution to stop this I have seen many people with the same problem and HP only shows how to flip it back but not stop this problem from happening again

Ok, since you are talking about a tablet, I assumed it was the mode as mentioned here:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01676226
But it is possible that it is the simple display settings
I am currently trying to find if there is a solution ..
but I may need the exact model of the device!

At intel there is this
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005491/graphics.html
All versions of the Intel® Graphics Control Panel support Hot Keys. These keys, when pressed, have the ability to automatically rotate your screen without having to go into the Intel® Graphics Control Panel. By default, the hot keys for rotation are as follows:
- 0 degrees (normal/upright): Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow
- 90 degrees (quarter turn clockwise): Ctrl + Alt + Right Arrow
- 180 degrees (upside down): Ctrl + Alt + Down Arrow
- 270 degrees (quarter turn counter-clockwise): Ctrl + Alt + Left Arrow
Note | These hot keys can be changed if desired, via the Hot Key Manager located in the Intel® Graphics Control Panel. |
