Hi @ervin14

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I'm really sorry you're facing this frustrating issue.

When drivers go missing or show Code 39, it usually means the system can't properly load them due to corruption or misconfiguration. Let’s gently walk through a few precise steps to restore functionality:

1. Reinstall Keyboard and Mouse Drivers via Device Manager

Step-by-step:

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Keyboards and Mice and other pointing devices.
  • Right-click each listed device (e.g., HID Keyboard Device, HID-compliant mouse) and choose Uninstall device.
  • After uninstalling, restart your PC. Windows will attempt to reinstall the drivers automatically.

If the issue persists after reboot, proceed to the next step.

2. Download Fresh Drivers from HP’s Official Site

Let’s refresh your system with the latest drivers directly from HP:

  • Visit the official HP Victus 15-fa0xxx driver page
  • Select your Windows version (e.g., Windows 11 64-bit).
  • Scroll to Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices.
  • Download and install the latest available drivers for both keyboard and mouse.

If you’re unsure which version of Windows you’re running:

  • Press Windows + R, type winver, and hit Enter.

3. Use HP’s Guided Troubleshooting Tool

HP offers a dedicated support page for keyboard and mouse issues:

This tool walks you through tailored diagnostics and repair options, including driver updates and hardware checks.

4. Check for Windows Updates

Sometimes, a missing driver can be resolved through a system update:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  • Click Check for updates and install anything available.
  • Restart your PC after updates are installed.

5. Optional: External Keyboard or Mouse

If your built-in keyboard or touchpad remains unresponsive, try connecting a USB keyboard or mouse temporarily. This can help you navigate while troubleshooting.

Let me know how these steps go—if anything feels unclear or doesn’t work as expected, I’ll guide you through the next layer of solutions. You're doing great by reaching out, and we’ll get your Victus back to smooth, responsive control soon.

If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
