Hi. Today I was trying to recreate a Recovery Drive. The message "Please Wait" kept on going on and on. I read online that corrupt files could cause this problem, so I ran a sfc/scannow command and I got the following message:

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag

I have the sfc logs in my Notepad.  What do I look for and how do I repair the corrupt files so that I can create the Recovery Drive?

hi

  " recreate a Recovery Drive."

question may seem silly, but why recreate, if you already have one?
then, what method, what type of recovery exactly?
because in function sometimes, it is possible to create only one...
see this

check part number if this V9B38AA#ABA

cloud recovery is supported

Hi. I had read on a Microsoft forum that one should recreate the recovery drive every year. I think it had something to do with having the  latest Windows updates if you should ever have to use the recovery drive for restore. I assumed it was true because it seemed like an expert made this comment.

It depends on what you want to do and the recovery tool used.
If you have an Hp computer, you have a factory recovery system, different depending on the model
but in most cases, this allows, in the event of a major problem, following a new installation of windows for example, update for a more recent one, to return to the version that we have after starting the computer , the first time
I don't really know what type of key is referred to here, but that's not always the best, having a key with the latest updates, every year..?
if you have a key with a more recent version, which is ultimately the problem with the computer, it will not be of much use!
But if you have a computer, say have windows 10 1709 version, and you did after a while, windows 10 1909 update, and then a newer one, but you have a big problem with
no choice, no option works, so rather than going back to version 1709, indeed, you could use a 1909 recovery key directly
The problem is that if you look here:
https://www.microsoft.com/fr-fr/software-download/windows10
microsoft, give the latest version
it would therefore be necessary to search for a file elsewhere, unless you have already created the previous key, but this risks creating a few usb keys...
There is a solution, with specialized software
this allows you to take snapshots of your system at a given time, which you can reuse in case something goes wrong
also not 100% reliable
but with that, you can install your computer, some usual software, whatever you want, functional computer, you make an image
problem, then you come back to this image, no need to start all over again
If you have enough storage, usb hdd disk, for example
you can make updates, install other programs etc, and make a new image, so on, and there you always have a way to return to a moment when the computer was working..
I don't use this, but it's much more useful than a windows key, knowing that you don't have all the hp software and drivers, if you use this
