Chromebox for meeting
Ubuntu LTS

Hi,

I just purchased an HP Chromebox for meeting.  I am trying to install Ubuntu on it.

After pressing verification is off screen

When I press Control-D in order to get into developer mode, I am sent to the google hangout hardware configuration.

What am I doing wrong?

How do I get to the developer mode?

Thank you very much

Gallium OS is based on Xubuntu and has support for converting most chromebooks over to Linux.  Unfortunately, it is all about getting out of the chromeos firmware locks and requires some disassembly and understanding of Linux to get it working.  Gallium's site is a little behind the times, and I believe currently it supports 18.04 LTS versions, but 18.04 is still currently supported and not EoL as of yet.
