My hp desktop motherboard is bricked and I need to find a replacement, I found a board seems exactly the same, but don't know how to find the ssid of the board, anyway to find it, by just looking at the board, btw, what difference would differente ssid make?

@twcd,

The correct motherboard should show this part number:

@twcd,

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!

It is indeed very important to find a compatible motherboard, especially if you want to transfer your CPU, RAM, drive(s) etc. to a replacement motherboard. What can you tell me about the model PC you got, as well as the part number that you should be able to find on your motherboard.

Model number: TG01-2170m

The number identification I can find for the motherboard is:

@2020 ID19 Erica3_Erica5 Rev A

I found one from eBay having the same number, does that mean they are the same, I think mine looks exactly as this:

@twcd,

Your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2170m CTO (3V2Z3AV), as per: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=3V2Z3AV&searchby=product, is fitted with an Erica6 motherboard (fitted with an AMD Ryzen processor) with SSID: 8906 and p/n: L56021-605 "ASSY, MBD, Erica6, AMD Cezanne PROM, WIN".

Please check that this motherboard has part number L56021-605, or you may end up with an identical looking motherboard that requires an Intel processor (Stark motherboard, SSID: 8860, p/n: M16092-601).

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for the thorough explanation, now I know what I need, to make sure I will get what I need, I want to know if there is a way to know the part number from the board itself, as the seller doesn't have the board connected.

Any other board could work? Like instead of 605, it is a 603?

HP Recommended

@twcd,

Yes, that would actually work:

Whereas an Erica5 motherboard (p/n: L56021-605) has SSID: 87D7, an Erica3 motherboard (p/n: L56021-603) has SSID: 87D6, but they both support the same AMD processors:

These motherboards appear to be interchangeable.
