I got an SSD(external one plugged into usb port) recently and plugged it in, and it started having problems and then died after like two weeks. I asked someone about it and they asked to check voltage, but none of the methods they suggested for checking it gives the results needed. I believe it is for the power rail.

Voltage readings can vary significantly depending on the context (choosing my career) and the equipment you're dealing with. Always prioritize safety when working with electrical equipment, and if you're not confident in your abilities, it's best to consult a professional or someone with experience.
