How to fix Stop Code Driver IRQL not less or equal netr28x.sys (windows 10)

Hi @SKM2024

The Stop Code: "Driver_ IRQL_ Not_ Less_ Or_ Equal" usually refers to an incompatible driver or device.

The netr28x.sys reference in the Stop Code could refer to a network/WIFI adapter or driver.

So you either have an incompatible network adapter which needs to be removed and replaced or you need a driver update, if an update is available, for this component.

It is going to be tough to get to safe mode because your PC is blue screening. There is a chance the driver may not load at startup if the device is removed from the MB.

I have never had this type of issue so I don't have first hand experience on how you can get into Windows safe mode so you can uninstall the WIFI driver to check for a fix.

You might be able to get to the WinRe by starting the PC and shutting down three times before it blue screens. Or try USB  Win 10 installation media for your version of Windows. Use the repair option to see if you can boot the system disk in safe mode.

Again, I've never had this type of problem and I have been using Windows since 1993. This is a catch 22; you need to uninstall a driver but you can't run Windows because the PC is blue screening. Remove the WIFI adapter to see if Windows will run.

Regards
