Hi @rita1-399-us_B,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there might be an issue with the operating system installation or the hard drive itself. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.
- Check Boot Order: Make sure that the computer is set to boot from the correct drive. You can usually access the BIOS or UEFI settings by pressing a key (like F2 or Del) during startup. Once in the BIOS/UEFI, navigate to the boot settings and ensure that the hard drive with Windows installed is set as the first boot device.
- Check Hard Drive Connection: Ensure that the hard drive is properly connected inside the PC. If it's a desktop, you can open the case and check the cables to the hard drive. If it's a laptop, you may need to refer to the HP instructions for accessing the hard drive.
- Boot from Installation Media: If you have a Windows installation USB or DVD, you can try booting from that and attempting to repair the installation or reinstall Windows. Insert the installation media and restart the computer. You may need to change the boot order in the BIOS/UEFI settings to boot from the installation media.
- Check for Hard Drive Failure: If none of the above steps work, there may be a problem with the hard drive itself. You can try connecting the hard drive to another computer (using a USB adapter, for example) to see if it's recognized. If the drive isn't recognized, it may be faulty and need to be replaced.
By going through these steps, you should be able to diagnose and hopefully resolve the issue with your HP All-in-One PC 24.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
