Desktop PC 570-p0xx #Z5N50AA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This HP Pavilion Desktop (# Z5N50AA) has Intel Bluetooth installed.

I used the built-in bluetooth to connect to a bluetooth mouse. Worked great.  But last week, computer stalled, so I did a forced shut-down (hold down the power button for a few seconds to force a turn off).

Upon restart, the bluetooth disappeared.  In Device Manager under Bluetooth there is only 1 entry "Intel Wireless Bluetooth".  Nothing else. No other Bluetooth entries. There should be more bluetooth entries.

I tried re-installing the HP bluetooth Intel drivers for my HP desktop (from the HP download site), and it still doesn't solve the problem.

In the Task Manager there is no bluetooth icon, so my bluetooth mouse cannot connect to the HP desktop. In the Windows Settings panel, under Devices, I click on "Add Bluetooth or other device",  it says "Couldn't connect, turn on Bluetooth".  But there is no where to turn it on or reconnect it.

Any way to do a full reinstallation of the Intel bluetooth drivers?

Your machine is an HP Pavilion 570-p047c Desktop PC, its specs

            https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05502837

It uses Integrated Bluetooth 4.2 and Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac featuring Dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz) 1 x 1 technology which is an Intel 3168 wifi adapter.

Please download and re-install Intel Bluetooth Driver:

            https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp101501-102000/sp101769.exe

or the old one (if the new one failed):

           https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp84001-84500/sp84411.exe

BH,

I followed your directions.

I downloaded then installed the first link (https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp101501-102000/sp101769.exe) when it "installed" it was a 1/4-second black screen pop-up.

That was it. My feeling is nothing really installed. Just a pop-up black window and then it disappeared.

So I then downloaded and installed the second link (https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp84001-84500/sp84411.exe) This one opened up 2 black windows, seemed to be installing something. But then the windows stopped, nothing happened after 1 second of installation.

Another normal windows popped up that said the installation is completed.

But there is only the "Intel Bluetooth driver" and nothing else in the Device Manager, and there is no bluetooth icon in the task bar.

I think I will have to do a factory reinstall of Windows 10 on this PC.
