How do I change the batteries on my mouse? I have removed the top, but am stymied in attempts to remove the batteries.

Thanks.

I took the mouse to local computer repair shop. The fellow there said "Brute force is needed." He used fingernails to remove the snug batteries. I had been afraid I'd damage the mouse if I did that.

@haldavis, welcome to the forum.

On the negative (-) end of the battery there is a spring.  You should be able to push the battery in that direction and remove it.  Also, sometimes there is a piece of material to pull on to remove it.

Did not find a spring. There is a plastic piece that straddles the two cells, i loosened it, but this did not budge the batteries, which each tight in place.

Thank you for the additional information, @haldavis.

You most likely won't be able to see the spring it will be behind the batteries.  However, I will ask an HP Agent to help you.  I have not had experience with a mouse that is that difficult to remove the bateries.
