Can’t get screen off of Updating, Stuck for weeks! Have tried shutting down, hard shut down too,  pulling plug until battery goes dead . When I get it back on it still says restarting, updates underway, etc ,  been doing this for weeks …

Hi:

 

The only suggestion I can offer would be to use another PC running W7 64 bit or newer to create a bootable USB recovery drive with the HP cloud recovery tool that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

 

Here is an info link for how to use the utility...You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

Since you have to install the tool on another PC, you will need to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window to proceed to make the recovery media.

 

Your PC's product number is:  8JF22UA#ABA

@Paul_Tikkanen's recommendation is good, but first the computer should be checked if there is a hardware problem, otherwise there will be problems during recovery as well !

 

Cancel the current update by pressing and holding the power button until the notebook turns off.
