one day I decided to get on my pc after a week or two of not getting on it. When I tried to power it on, the lights in the back wasn’t lighting up or anything even after trying to press down on the power button. Previous pertaining to this incident, my power cord had shortages in it, so I figured it was the power cord. I’ve ordered two different power cords one ended up not being the correct one, so I ordered another that was the exact same as the original charger. I tried plugging it up but the power still wasn’t cutting on and neither was the lights. Please help because I am now clueless!

Since your computer is running Windows 8.1, not Windows 10, I am guessing that it is "out-of-warranty".
Can you take the computer and a flashlight into a totally-blackened room at night?
With assistance from the flashlight, connect the power-cord to a power outlet.
Then, with assistance from the flashlight, find the ON/OFF button.
Turn off the flashlight, and press the ON/OFF button.
Do you get any light at all coming from inside the computer?
Otherwise, you can either contact HP Support. For a fee, they will fix your computer, or you can find a local, qualified, computer-technician, who will partially disassemble the computer, to see if something has "blown", and it might be able to be repaired.
If all else fails, remove the disk-drive. It contains your personal files, and connect it as a "secondary" disk-drive in some other computer, to "rescue" your files.
