Hi @Luke212,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Pavilion 24 All-in-One isn't booting up properly and is only displaying "Check HDMI Input" or "Monitor Off." Here are some troubleshooting steps to try.
Basic Power Checks
- Ensure Power Connection: Check if the power cable is firmly plugged into both the wall outlet and the PC. Try a different power outlet.
- Look for LED Indicators: If your All-in-One has a power indicator light on the side or back, check if it's on.
- Try a Different Power Adapter: If you have access to another compatible power adapter, test with that.
Perform a Power Reset
- Unplug the power cable from the wall and your PC.
- Press and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds (to drain any residual power).
- Reconnect the power cable and try turning it on again.
Check for External Display Mode
Your PC might be stuck in external display mode. Try these:
- Press "F4" or "Windows Key + P" to toggle between display modes.
- If you have an HDMI input port, unplug any connected devices.
Remove External Peripherals
- Unplug all USB devices, including mouse, keyboard, printers, and external drives.
- Try turning the PC on with just the power cable connected.
Listen for Sounds or Fan Movement
- If you hear fans spinning but see no display, the issue might be with the screen.
- If there are no sounds or fan movement, your power supply or motherboard might be failing.
Test the CMOS Battery (If Possible)
A failed CMOS battery can sometimes cause startup issues. If you're comfortable opening the back panel, try:
- Remove the CMOS battery (a small coin-cell battery).
- Wait 5-10 minutes, then reinsert it.
- Plug in power and attempt to turn it on.
Try an External Monitor
If your PC has an HDMI output port, connect an external monitor to see if the issue is with the built-in display.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
