You may have opened a second desktop by accident.
Press the windows key followed by the tab key immediately and look for your missing desktop
If this is not the problem then please use a smart ;phone or whatever to take a picture and post it here along with the operating system if not windows 10

Do you have the normal desktop icons?
Look in the recycle bin for your folders
Can you describe what the screen looks like?

Hi it does not show the normal desktop icons anymore and we have checked the recycle bin
We are totally puzzled where all our folders have gone.
the internet explorer folders look as if it’s a new pc since no previous folders are showing. We are baffled where it’s all down. Thanks

1 - You may have accidently logged in using a local or maintenance account. It has been known to happen
Right click on the windows start button and select log out.
Then look for another account to log into
2 - This can happen and is very confusing: You may have extended the windows task bar all the way to the top of the screen. Position the mouse at the top and see if you can drag it down.

Hi. I have tried both ideas but neither have helped.
When I go into IE and click on a folder it keeps saying location is not available. I just don’t understand where all the folders have gone? I have not deleted anything. Any other ideas please? Thanks
