Microsoft Windows 11

I bought my Omen 40L a few months ago, but after having it for a while, my windows activation key was gone after BitLocker recovery. Please help. I have my old Activation key in command prompt but it does not work.

Hi @JoshuaH123

Welcome to the HP Forum.

I don't know why a BitLocker recovery would mess up activation when using the correct Windows product key, I guess anything is possible. I really don't know what to say. Maybe try setting the BIOS to defaults.

Check this Site for tips on finding the product key. HP stores this key, which is encrypted, in the BIOS. Well, forget the previous site link unless you want to create an account. This site used to provide open access to content.

Verify the product key you are using by trying Show Key Plus at this Site.

I would disable Device Encryption (BitLocker) in Control Panel if you have W10 Home. BitLocker seems to cause more harm than good from what I have been seeing in this Forum.

I have W11 Pro. I don't use BitLocker.

Regards
