Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Very sorry but HP introduced your product in 08'18.

Windows 7 was released for sale in 07'09.

Windows 7 is probably not going to install on your PC. Maybe, but highly unlikely, by jumping through some major hoops.

The effort involved to install Windows 7 is not worth the benefits.

Zero Windows 7 Update support.

Hi, @la7ah

It is not possible to install W7 on that platform.

There is only W10 driver support for Gemini Lake Processors and chipsets.

Intel did not develop any W7 drivers for the USB 3.1 ports, storage controller or graphics.

W7 will not install because there are no USB 3.1 drivers, which is what W7 is asking for.

There are also no W7 storage controller drivers.

If you were to try to install W7 via DVD, the KB and mouse will lock up because there are no USB 3.1 drivers.

So, you put the KB and mouse in the USB 2 ports, and that will fix the problem, right?

No, because there is no USB 2 support until after Windows is installed, and the Intel chipset installation utility can be installed afterward to activate the USB 2 ports.

Thank you ! This will result in returning my newly bought pc to the store, and ask for another with the right prosessor.

You are clever !!

You're very welcome.

If you want an Intel based PC, the last model you can run W7 on and have everything work would be a PC with an Intel Skylake chipset (6th gen core processor).
