Hi, I accidently switched my computer off at the wall mistook which plug i was switching off, when I turned it back on the screen was black it took a few minutes but eventually my log in screen appeared, I logged in and it took a few minutes for my desktop to load again screen was black and the applications were on my screen but i couldn't access any them. The only thing I could access was the HP support assistant which I have 12 updates some are important ones like HP connection optimizer and HP PC hardware diagnostics UEFI. When I'm clicking to download them I am getting stuck on creating a restore point it's not moving at all. I literally cannot download anything. I've tried all of the different help on the support assistant like pressing the different F keys and so on  to get my computer back up and running but I am now at a loss. I don't know what else to try. If anybody has any idea or have had a similar issue and can give me some insight would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Hi

I would ensure W10 Fast Start Up is disabled.  Shut Down and attempt to reboot in safe mode.

Try the method again with HP Support Assistant.

Ensure you have Recovery Media and Backups created.

If in doubt please ask.
