Microsoft Windows 10 IOT

I need to do a clean install on my system and websites say I may loose my windows product activation key / license

Hi:

 

The Windows 10 product key is in your PC's BIOS, so unless you replaced the motherboard, the key should still be there.

 

You don't need the product key to reinstall W10.

 

You can use the media creation tool to create a bootable USB installation drive...

 

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

 

Or you can use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

To use either option, you will need to have access to another Windows PC running W7 64 bit or newer to create the installation/recovery media.
