I've been getting a blue screen when booting up saying that the bios can't find the operating system. it then switches off, when rebooting it works fine. Ive been trying to upgrade the HPSA but it tells me its not compatable, I then tried to install an earlier version (8 i think it was) and it then de installed my version and went to install the new one but came back with "cannot install Error 2" I'm at my wits end!!
Thanks
John

You have two problems. One seems to be hardware the other file corruption or software
Have you run diagnostics?
Tap the ESC key after powering on and press F2 to run diagnostics.
Do not allow any updates if disk or memory fail, especially a BIOS update.
If you pass hard drive and memory diagnostics then run the disk repair
Installation failures are usually caused by an OS problem.
Try running the windows files system file checker
SFC and DISM are both tools that scan and repair corrupted system files. However, SFC uses a cached version of the files, while DISM uses the internet to download and fix the files.
Try the SFC first and if that gives a message that it cannot fix the problem then try the DISM tool.
Let me know what happens.,
The HPSA version is dependent on the country.

You may need to cleanly uninstall HPSA.
make sure you do the advanced scan and select all the leftover registry items to delete.
Then download the latest HPSA.
You should not be getting that blues screen nor any message about a missing OS. There is something wrong
Try updating your HP diagnos5tics
HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically.
When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics.
There is an updated diagnostics package here
https://support.hp.com/us-en/help/hp-pc-hardware-diagnostics
Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS',
Expand the'+'symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button.
The version of the UEFI diagnostics is shown at the left of that DOWNLOAD button.
When you press F2 to run diagnostics please ensure the version is the new one.

well I give up !! I ran diagnostics from F2 and did a deep scan, it took several hours with nothing found I used REVO to uninstall everything related to HP and went to services and stopped everything - I then re started and then tried to install and guess what !!! error 2 and won't install, ok so I though I'd install an earlier version, still with no luck, funny thing is (well not so funny really) the computer works fine, I switch it off (shut down) and when I restart it .........its hit and miss if it starts ok or it comes up with a blue screen, I've tried rolling back the BIOS and this morning it came back with no operating system found. Hold the button, switch off from the wall, hold power button for 20 seconds to discharge capacitors re starts and still will not install HPSA.........I give up
