Hi @Nadia246,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Stream 14-ax000 laptop isn’t turning on and the power light blinks in a specific pattern, it usually indicates a hardware issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try at home:
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the power adapter.
- Remove any external devices (USB drives, external keyboards, etc.).
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the power adapter and try turning the laptop on again.
Check the Battery and Power Adapter:
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and the power source.
- If possible, try using a different power adapter compatible with your laptop to rule out issues with the adapter.
Inspect the Battery:
- If the laptop has a removable battery, remove it and then try powering on the laptop with just the power adapter connected. If it turns on, the battery may need replacement.
- If the battery is non-removable, skip this step.
Test the AC Adapter and Power Source:
- Plug the power adapter into a different outlet to make sure the problem isn’t with the power source.
Check for External Display Issues:
- Connect the laptop to an external monitor or TV to see if it’s a display issue rather than a power issue.
Examine the LED Blink Code:
- The blink pattern you described could be a diagnostic code. Refer to the HP documentation or support website to identify what the blink pattern indicates.
Perform a BIOS Recovery:
- If the laptop appears to be powering on but not booting, try performing a BIOS recovery by following these steps:
- Disconnect the power adapter.
- Press and hold the Windows key + B key, then press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
- Release the power button but keep holding the Windows key + B key until the BIOS recovery screen appears.

I hope this helps.
