Hi:

HP no longer sells recovery media for that model series.

You can still order W8 recovery media from this vendor at the link below.

http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-23699-windows-8-64-bit-13am2ar8602-recovery-kit-e1l99av-usb-for-hp...

You can also clean install W8.1 for free by using the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.

Install W8.1 by creating the Microsoft installation media, using another Windows PC, if yours is not working...You want W8.1 64 bit.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, use this generic key.

This is the generic key for W8.1 'Standard.'

334NH-RXG76-64THK-C7CKG-D3VPT

If you had to enter the generic key, manually change the generic product key to the W8 key in your PC's BIOS in the PC settings menu.

After you get W8.1 installed, and you had to manually enter the W8.1 generic product key, you will need to run the free utility I zipped up and attached below, that will show you show the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.

I have also zipped up and attached below, the Microsoft tool which hopefully will transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so it is bootable.

Then you can install the available drivers and software from your PC's support page.

so F11 fails>

did you read the manual first.

the chapter called RECOVERY .

tells you what to do and how.

modern HP , have recovery in the HDD in the HP recovery partition, (back to day 1 new OS HP)

that?

if the  HDD was not molested, (means alien OS installed) then it works if not , not.

did PC come new with 8.1? 7 year old PC I see.

i guess this PC has no , DEAD OS NOW, recovery partition.

all HP has is this a video, and no real service manual at all.

or upgrade to w10

many a PC with w8 upgrade for free, all do for  30 days, but many are now free to upgrade w8 to 10 (MS rules not mine)

Hello @DJBKLA
If you mean what I said, normally yes ..
But I invite you to do research with google, being in France, I probably do not have the same results, so I mainly have solutions in French ..
I can't guarantee you anything, but there are several people who have solved this problem like this ..
If it can avoid a complete reinstallation, I think it's worth a try!
