Error C:/windows/system32/Logfiles/Srt/SrtTrail.txt.  I haven't been able to restore my HP all in one computer, the hard drive passed the scan, but I just can't start normally or restore it. I tried everything in advanced setting but nothing worked.

Hi @j7771,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The error pointing to SrtTrail.txt means Windows Startup Repair failed to fix a critical boot issue. Since your hard drive passed diagnostics, the problem is likely with corrupted system files or boot configuration. Here’s a structured approach:

1. Boot into Advanced Options

  • Power on → interrupt boot 3 times (hold power button during Windows logo) → Automatic RepairAdvanced Options.

2. Run System File Checker & DISM

From Command Prompt in Advanced Options: sfc /scannow /offbootdir=C:\ /offwindir=C:\Windows

Then: DISM /Image:C:\ /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

This repairs corrupted system files.

3. Rebuild Boot Configuration

Still in Command Prompt:

bootrec /fixmbr

bootrec /fixboot

bootrec /scanos

bootrec /rebuildbcd

This restores boot records.

4. Disable Automatic Repair Loop

If stuck in a loop: bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled No

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
