I inherited an HP Slimline 270 from a deceased brother. I do not have a pin nor a password. I don't want to access his files, I would like to erase the hard drive and start over. I could not find a recovery disk in his condo.

Your model PC appears to be supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.
With another working Windows PC, you can use that tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with the PC.
Here is an info link for how to use that utility...

Hi:
That shouldn't be a problem and you can probably reinstall Windows for free.
What is the full model number or product number of the PC?
Use this guide to find that info...please don't post the serial number. It is not necessary.
