Hi @sandy302

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you want to clean your computer while keeping your saved passwords, here are some steps you can follow:

Step 1: Backup Passwords

Before you clean your computer, ensure your passwords are saved securely. Most modern browsers save passwords, but it’s a good idea to export them or use a password manager. Here’s how to do it in common browsers:

Chrome:

  1. Go to Settings > Autofill > Passwords.
  2. Click the three dots next to "Saved Passwords" and select Export.

Firefox:

  1. Go to Options > Privacy & Security > Logins and Passwords.
  2. Click on Saved Logins and then click Export.

Edge:

  1. Go to Settings > Profiles > Passwords.
  2. Click on the three dots next to Saved Passwords and choose Export.

Step 2: Clear Unwanted Data

Uninstall Unnecessary Applications:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
  • Review the list and uninstall any applications you no longer need.

Disk Cleanup:

  • Search for "Disk Cleanup" in the Start menu.
  • Select the drive you want to clean (usually C:).
  • Check the boxes for items you want to delete (like temporary files) and click OK.

Clear Browser Data:

  • Open your browser and clear cached files while ensuring you don’t delete passwords. Each browser has a different method for this:
    • Chrome: Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data and select what to clear.
    • Firefox: Go to Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data and select what to clear.
    • Edge: Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data.

Delete Temporary Files:

  • Press Windows + R, type %temp%, and press Enter. This opens the temporary files folder. You can select all files and delete them.

Step 3: System Reset (Optional)

If you want to reset your computer to its factory settings but keep the saved passwords, make sure to select the option to keep your files (although this may vary by operating system):

  1. Windows 10/11:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
    • Under Reset this PC, click Get started and choose Keep my files.

Step 4: Final Check

After cleaning, verify that your passwords are still intact:

  1. Open your browser and check the saved passwords in the settings.
  2. Log in to a few sites to ensure everything is working as expected.

Also may I know what subscription are you referring to?

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
