Example: Pavilion P7-1037C
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I added the PLOP Boot Manager to the bios and even though it uninstalls the MBR I still have 2 options when booting up.  (1) Option Start Windows 10 however it will start automatically in about 15 seconds.  (2) option is Install/Uninstall PloP Boot Manager.  I thought if I could reinstall the original bios it would remedy the situation.  HP doesn't provide any Bios updates on the computer since it is so old.  Does anyone know how I could get the software for American Megatrends Bios version 6.07 dated 0504/2011.

Thanks

Hi:

Since you now have W10 on there, I don't know what will happen if you try to install the v6.07 BIOS, which was only written to be run using W7.

You can find the available BIOS updates on the support page under the W7 driver section.

No, your thought is incorrect.

The BIOS reads a few sectors from the disk-drive, to boot from that  Boot Manager or the Windows 10 Boot Manager.

Updating the BIOS will not change that reading from the disk-drive.

I think if a BIOS-update says that it necessary to install it before running Window 7, you should update before installing Windows 7. That updated BIOS should also be sufficient to run Windows 8 or Windows 10.  If it is not sufficient, I expect that HP would have issued another BIOS update to be installed before installing Windonws 10.
