Can someone please give me a link or file for the driver BCM43142 802.11 wifi adaptor
Unfortunetly, when I see the drivers available on the HP website, that one is missing on device manager, even under show hidden. Thus, I cannot connect to the wifi.

Hi:
According to the product specs for your notebook, it does not come with a Broadcom single band Wi-Fi N adapter.
The product specs indicate that it comes with a 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (1x1) Wi-Fi adapter, which means it is probably either the Intel 3165 AC or 3168 AC model Wi-Fi adapter.

If you don't see any model Wi-Fi adapter showing up under the Network adapters device manager category, or you do not see a device labeled as a Network Controller under an Other Devices category in the device manager, most likely there is a hardware issue or a major software problem that would require reinstalling Windows and hoping that gets the Wi-Fi to show up again.
FWIW, here is the link to the latest W10 Broadcom Wi-Fi adapter you requested.
