Hello support,
Can you help me to find a Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) VMD Driver for the system HP Laptop 17-cn0235nd (6G8B6EA). I do a new Windows 11 installation of this laptop, but there is not a driver for installation.
With king regards,

Hi, @Nevermind1970
I have zipped up and attached below, the Intel storage controller drivers needed for Windows to find the drive on PC's with the Intel 11th > 13th gen core processors.
Unzip and copy all of the files in the folder in the attachment to a USB flash drive.
Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the Windows installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
If Windows still can't find the drive, uncheck the box to include the compatible driver and try any of the ones listed.
Your other option is to use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall the original HP factory software image that came with your notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility:
HP consumenten-pc's – De HP Cloud Recovery Tool gebruiken in Windows | HP® ondersteuning
Since you have to use the software on another PC, you will have to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.
Your PCs product number is 6G8B6EA#ABH

During a clean Windows 11 install, if the SSD isn’t showing up, you may need the storage controller driver, but I’d first confirm that this particular HP 17-cn0235nd actually uses Intel VMD. Not every Intel laptop needs the VMD/IRST driver.
If the Windows installer can’t see the internal drive, check the BIOS storage settings and the exact storage controller listed there. If VMD is enabled, the driver should normally come from HP’s support page for the exact model or from Intel, then extract the driver to a USB and use Load driver in Windows Setup. If the SSD is already visible in the installer, you probably don’t need to load IRST at all.
