I need to factory reset my PC so i can sell it but it wont let me without an admin password for a certain domain and the admin password and username i was given dont work.

That is a new one on me... but more importantly any discussion here regarding working around passwords/ cracking passwords/ spoofing passwords is strictly against the forum's rules. Makes sense to me. 

 

You have access to the same manuals we have, and we all would need to do the same as you now... contact HP, prove you are truly the owner, and get advice from them.

the fact that you mention a "Domain" in your post indicates that this/was most likely  a business owned laptop

 

and the laptop may be configured to only allow domain user password authentication while connected to the companies servers

 

and being in this field i know that large companies either destroy the laptops or always remove the units storage drives

for laptops being removed from service

 

smaller business may not do so, and if this is the case you will need to contact them and explain the password you have does not work and see what they can do if possible see if they can xfer the company registered owner info to your info

 

HP will most likely not provide any help as you are not the listed owner per their records but you can try and see what they say
