I purchased my HP Envy computer 3-years ago, it came installed with Windows 11. Over time, apps and basic functions of the OS have stopped working (can't talk to HP printer, task manager does not work, can't setup a second monitor because I can't access the Display settings, Phone Link (for android) does not work, can't install Adobe products successfully, could not install Corel products without a great deal of support effort and grief, etc. etc. etc.). I have worked with MS on these OS issues but to date, nothings has been resolved. I have decided that I want to go back to Windows 10 since everything I need seems to work flawlessly on my old Windows 10 PC. I just need to know the process and where I can get a version of Windows 10 that works on my HP Envy computer. I would be willing to pay a professional to do the downgrade if that is a better solution. I would rather not buy an Apple Mac at this time. ANY help/advise would be appreciated.

Without the model number, help will be generic. Assuming the PC can actually run Windows 10, you can give it a try by making the install media for Windows 10.
If you need the install media for Windows 10, you can make it from this Microsoft download
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
With a working PC, scroll down to the "Using the tool to create installation media"
and then follow the directions. You can make either the DVD or USB. Use this new media to install Windows 10. This will be a fresh install.
When the install asks for the product key, click the "I don't have a product key" option to continue,
then the install will continue.
If it was me and there was anything on the existing drive I needed or wanted, I would replace the hard drive or SSD with a new one before installing Windows 10. That way if the Windows 10 install fails, you can go back to the way it was/is.

Thank you for your reply! My model number is HP Envy TE01-1xxx. Your recommendation is similar to others I have found on the web, so you have made me feel better. I have been warned that at the factory, OEM's install customized OSs based on to the hardware and agreements with Microsoft, thus a generic Windows 10 OS from the Microsoft website may not install. Looking at my HP Envy purchase documents, I had the choice of Windows 10 so I am thinking it should install fine. Also, I have the product key!

Just wanted to community to know that I successfully downgraded my Windows 11 Envy (my 3-year-old desktop) to Windows 10 a few days ago. I followed the steps provided by "TheOldMan". The creation of the installation media (a USB drive) took around 30 minutes. The installation process (I followed the instructions provided by the Microsoft website) took about an hour. I had to go into the BIOS (on my desktop I used the ESC to access these menus during boot) to tell the system to boot from the USB for installation and again to tell the system to boot from my SSD drive with Windows 10 -- everything came up fine! The process never asked for my product id (even though I had it). My system was able to download my settings from the OneDrive backup so I did not lose my "favorites" and other convenient desktop shortcuts. I can now use my HP printer from my desktop! I can now kill tasks using the Task Manager. I can now access all hardware setting (specifically "Display") that had not been available to me for years! I was able to install ALL my software packages (including the latest Adobe CC products) without a fight or a call to support! Only outstanding issue, I have is that my PhoneLink services (android) is failing due to a problem with my MS account (I am working with MS support on this). Couple of things to note, (1) I have both Windows 10 and Windows 11 on my desktop and I am asked which one I want to use on boot/restart, and (2) I have been warned that Microsoft might upgrade my Windows 10 to Windows 11 via automatic updates. This video gives a solution to the update concern -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFIdyzpNHBw. Overall, I am very pleased with how the process went and I am happy to have my desktop back and functional! Thank you "TheOldMan" and thank you MS support for all your help!
