Hi @CHANDAN_TUNA,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for contacting us. We’re sorry to hear that your built-in Microsoft Office isn’t working and is instead prompting you to buy or subscribe to Office 365. Let’s walk through what might be happening and how you can fix it.

Why You’re Seeing the “Buy Office 365” Screen

Many new HP PCs come preinstalled with a trial version of Microsoft Office (like Office 365 or Microsoft 365), which:

  • May be a 30-day free trial, or
  • May require activation with a purchased license key.

If Office was included with your device as a "Home & Student" or "Personal" license, it must be activated using:

  • A Microsoft account, and
  • The product key (usually sent by email or included on a card in the box).

How to Check and Activate Office:

1. Sign In with Your Microsoft Account

Make sure you're signed into the PC with the same Microsoft account used to redeem or purchase Office.

2. Open Any Office App (e.g., Word or Excel)

  • If prompted, click "Sign in" instead of "Buy".
  • Sign in using the Microsoft account you used (or plan to use) with Office.

3. Check for a Product Key Card

If Office was included in your HP package, check your documentation or email for a 25-character product key.
You can redeem it at:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
