Hi:

The easiest thing to do would be to purchase a USB dual band AC wifi adapter.

You can also take the PC apart and replace the existing wifi card with a dual band model.

Below is the link to the parts list for your notebook.

HP PartSurfer

According to the parts list there are two antenna wires connected to the Broadcom wifi card.

Antenna - (2x2) Metal,L:375mm, R:395mm, Camshaft

You may want to open up the PC first and confirm that there are two antenna wires connected to the Broadcom card before buying a replacement.

If there are, then you can upgrade to the Intel card also listed in the above parts list.

I would look on eBay for used but tested and working wifi cards.  Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 combination WLAN adapter  HP part # 756055-011

Below is the link to the service manual,  There will be no procedure for removing and replacing the wifi card.

Just be very careful removing and reattaching the thin and delicate antenna wires.
