According to information online, there is a vulnerability in Intel(R) Management Engine that affects my notebook.

Intel highly recommends that all customers install the updated firmware and Intel® Capability License Service on impacted platforms.

Yeah, HP does not really seem caring care about it - their silence and lack of updates is deafening.

Even SONY did manage to release updated ME packages for VAIO laptops now (and they kind-of stopped producing these couple of years ago).

EDIT TO ADD:

There's some movement and summary page has now been updated:

Are you running the F.84 BIOS -> https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-pavilion-14-ab000-notebook-pc-series/7...

for your Intel-based computer?  This update is dated June 2017.
