How can I remove HpPortIox64.sys? I see in the boards that this file is used on Omen Gaming systems and I have an HP Pavilion TP01.
It is flagged by my virus checker and my backups stop due to this file being locked (when backing up my C drive). If it is not required for my desktop how can I remove it.
I have turned off recovery, so no longer used for shadowing.

Hi @Viking152024,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
You could probably exclude the file in AVG but I am not familiar with AVG so you would have to look for this option.
AVG may be erroneously flagging this file even though the problem may be resolved.
Verify you are running the latest version of this Omen software. You should be up to date if you use HP Support Assistant.
Check this Site for details on the Omen Gaming Hub security bug.
Check this Site to download the latest version of Omen Gaming Hub.
If this does not help, I recommend you contact phone support.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I do not have the Omen gaming hub installed this want this removed. AVG and it being flagged can work around, I can not work around the fact that this file is not allowing me to back up my C drive with Acronis, since the file is locked
