Hi:

The processor is supported for W10, but the PC has no W10 drivers released by HP.

If you want to try upgrading your PC to W10, you can make a bootable USB installation flash drive with the Media creation tool from the link below.

It will be easier to make the media on another PC running W10.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

After the installation media has been created, do not boot from it.

Open the flash drive in Windows explorer and double click on the setup application to begin the upgrade process to W10.

After W10 has completed installing check how things work and if things don't work right, you have 10 days to go back to W8.1.

Rather than upgrading, what about a "clean install"? Would that be simpler?

HP Recommended

I bought a new  Windows 10 Pro CD, to do the install.

You can always do a clean install.

I would try the upgrade first because with a clean install you will have to reinstall all of your programs and files.

Plus finding drivers may prove to be difficult.

There may be fewer drivers that need to be installed with an upgrade.

I have tried to install the Windows 10 Pro, from t he CD,  using the Media Creation Tool and it goes  all the way through the process, then reverts back to Windows 8.1.

OK, then you would have no other option but to try the clean install.
