Hi @Rj186
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your PC is stuck on a blue screen error with a message like "Windows 10 Volume 3" or a similar error code. This can be caused by a variety of issues, including corrupted system files, driver issues, or even a hardware malfunction. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Restart the Computer in Safe Mode
Safe Mode allows Windows to boot with only the essential drivers, which can help bypass the issue causing the blue screen.
To boot into Safe Mode:
- Power off your PC by holding the power button for 5-10 seconds.
- Turn the PC on again, and as soon as you see the Windows logo, immediately press the power button again to force it off. Repeat this process three times to trigger the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
- In WinRE, go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- After your PC restarts, press 4 or F4 to boot into Safe Mode.
Once in Safe Mode, you can try several things:
- Run the Windows Troubleshooter (go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot).
- Check for system updates by going to Settings > Update & Security.
- Uninstall recent updates or drivers that might have caused the issue.
2. Run Startup Repair
If Safe Mode doesn't work, you can try running Startup Repair.
To run Startup Repair:
- While in the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE), select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
- Let Windows try to repair any startup issues automatically.
3. Run System File Checker (SFC)
Sometimes, corrupted system files can cause the blue screen error. You can use System File Checker (SFC) to fix corrupted files.
To run SFC:
- While in Safe Mode, press Windows + X and select Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows PowerShell (Admin).
- In the command prompt, type the following command and press Enter:
- Let the scan complete. If any issues are found, SFC will attempt to repair them automatically.[
I hope this helps.
