Oh yeah I heard about that stuff, tho is anyone here having those other sort of issues? And it wasn't clear what BSOD folks were having like in that Forbes article.
But this may just be HP's portion of that update's woes I guess.

Very possible. Good luck!
Thanks, I believe mine is solved as well. I just want to verify that the issue is related to a conflict between defender and Hp's Touch Point Analytics Client. Defender could be throwing a fit because of the way HP is sending data back to the company.
I have Defender fully back up and running with Real time protection and KB4556799 patch installed.

@siradix wrote:Aramtech, what is the latest database you have for Windows defender?
Security Intelligence version: 1.315.1140.0
Created on: 5/21/2020 7:38am

Do you still get a BSOD? For 1909 there is a 1.315.1141.0 KB2267602.
That's the same KB# this one is showing as the latest installed. It also says that there are no further Windows Updates available to install. I've shut it down (Fast Startup is disabled) and/or restarted it over ten times and so far there have been no further problems. I'm about to call the client to come get it.
Before calling your client, remember this issue started in the beginning of May before the KB was released. From the first boot loop in early May, some of us did a restore and were running for a week or two with the latest updates before the latest BSOD.
Also, try manually turning on and off Real-Time Protection in the Windows Security Settings. If you don't get the BSOD, then maybe you are good to go for now
Done. Turned off/on several times, no BSOD.

FWIW, this one does not have Touch Point Analytics Client installed.

Wait, are you saying there's a DIFFERENT KB4556799 than the one my system installed automatically? I'm confused.

Well there goes my theory. Perhaps the old database had errors in it causing the computer to crash.

I'm not saying that, I'm just saying I have the update installed and everything is working. The only issue I've seen with that update is on a computer that created a temp profile after the update was installed.

It is gratifying to see so much technical talent weighing in on this problem. But there are some key players that are missing and whose presence might make all the difference in the world in getting Microsoft and HP to confront and solve the problem: LAWYERS.
I'm dead in the water with my Pavilion. i trust my D drive data is safe though currently beyond my reach. But I'm worried that some apps I use, e.g., Thunderbird, ClipCache and Linksys store their data on C. (My address book alone will take days to rebuild.) I'm stuck in the BSOD loop and don't know how much longer I can wait before I have to rebuild Windows 10 and risk losing the files I mentioned.
I've decided that when and if I get all my files onto external storage I'm going to get another computer. I'm thinking 100 miles away from Windows 10 should be far enough. For my purposes maybe a Chromebook or a cheap box running Linux would get me doing what I do. The Pavilion could then sit idle waiting for the Final Resolution (or Reckoning) but at least my life as I know it would resume.

Oh my goodness. I just wanted to let you know I had these problems for a decade with my old thinkpad and windows. I even at one point had dual booting into Linux and windows and still couldn't resolve my issues. I had decided I was finished with windows and microsoft, but then realized my favorite applications had no Linux capabilities. Literally ALL of them only had windows applications available. I finally just gave in and after many tribulations got windows 10 to run on my 2008 thinkpad somewhere around, maybe 2 years ago (2018). Then I was able to get this amazing new system that just did everything INSTANTLY last year. I couldn't believe it, it was just incredible. Amazingly, though, through this mess, to document what's happening without the risk of losing it one way or another, I've fired up the old thinkpad and it's keeping my notes on everything while my $1500 PC has turned into a blue screen nightlight.
I wouldn't alienate Microsoft or HP for this catastrophe. Someone is to blame, that's for sure. But at this time I imagine most of them aren't even in their offices. They're probably working from home. How? Well, not at all if they are staring at a bluescreen with KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED instead of being able to log in and ZOOM or Google Meet or whatever with their cohorts who work in software engineering at HP or Microsoft. They probably have their supervisor on the phone yelling at them to "Just fix it! I know you can't boot your computer up or log in to anything. Just fix it! By the way don't come to the office unless you're willing to die!"
Perhaps just having some patience way beyond what we're used to might help us all to wait this out. In the meantime, I'm fortunate enough to be retired so I don't have to stress, but I really feel for anyone who is dealing with this while trying to work from home. It's just really bad.
If there's anything they can do to "elevate" the resources applied to a resolution beyond what they are already doing they should certainly do it now.

I have re-flashed my pc 3 times and disables all windows updates to no avail. the error comes back roughly every 24-32hours. very frustrating but luckily i don't have anything important on my GAMING pc. what a shame, this has been a known issue for over a week. FIX

I just did this and it's working, I really hope it lasts, and thank you so much, I have lots of games and stuff on my PC, and I had to factory reset it like 3 times, I nearly lost my steam account with over 100 dollars worth of games on it, all because it happened before you posted this, you are a god, and I thank you for being one, and, again, thank you, you just saved me so much stress.
