Hello, The original topic on KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED is closed in 2020.
Well, in 2022 it started again! I cannot boot to windows 10 anymore. Looks like windows update has downloaded some "KILL SWITCH" that does not allow to boot Windows anymore. Z440 goes into BSOD before switching to graphical mode, so before the login screen, on the black screen with white spinning dots. The dots suddenly stop spinning and voila, BSOD.
It was difficult, but i have managed to update BIOS on my Z440 to the latest M60_0259.bin version that came out in 2022. This did NOT help.
Even when i try to boot from Windows installation DVD, i cannot, it crashes into the same KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED, so i cannot event reinstall windows from scratch!!!
I have tried to run BIOS-based diagnostic tools (CPU, RAM, motherboard), and they all terminated without errors.
It looks like coordinated efforts of this company and microsoft to kill old computers, so they could never work again.
I have NEVER saw BSODs during the windows 10 installation. HP has killed my computer, so i cannot even start FRESH windows install because of this BSOD. It crashes before switching to GUI, so, no luck to do the "windows repair" neither, it crashes before any possible windows-related boot.
ONLY Linux boots normally.

Hello @FRENCHFROG2
Did you run all HP Diagnostic Tests ?
Most software problems are caused by technical errors.
Please report your results.
best regards

Hello,
Not all, i have run 3 main tests: CPU, RAM and motherboard tests, and they were fine (no errors).
I have also run MS RAM test, which was fine also.
Today I have tried to install Windows 11 (manual UEFI mode, without TPM/CPU requirements), and it installed perfectly. The drivers for windows 10 worked well, so now i have a working system (for now).
Before, i was not able event to clean install Windows 10 (2020 and 2021 versions) from DVD. Only old 2019 versions showed me the GUI installation screen.
Or now even better, i can run Windows 11, it is better than nothing.
Thanks anyway.
