Hello Bill_To,

Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your letting me know about the other individual who was having a similar problem.  I would not have noticed it otherwise and thought I was the only one with this problem of daily Blue Screens, Restarts and Kernel Security Check Failure events at least once daily and sometimes several times.  I have lost a lot of sleep over this and even considering cutting my losses and buying a new computer!

I may be speaking too soon, but yesterday evening I decided to uninstall HP One Agent as suggested in the post by  polo897 and so far today have had no random blue screens or Kernel Security Check Failure events!  The desktop is functioning like it did before July 14.   I will keep checking every day I use the desktop to make sure HP One Agent has not been reinstalled.   I will know even better by the end of next week when I put in a full day on it Thursday and Friday, and will let polo897 know as well.  Thanks again!

Greetings @Benji2115

My pleasure.

That's great news!

Monitor PC stability to see how things go.

Regards

Try uninstalling the Windows update that was installed on July 14 first, since the problem started right after that update.

Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall updates, find the July 14 update, and uninstall it. Then restart the PC and check if the blue screen stops.

Also run Windows Memory Diagnostic to check the RAM. You can search for “Windows Memory Diagnostic” from the Start menu and choose the option to restart and check for problems.

If the problem continues, run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics and check the memory and storage tests. If those tests pass, the next step would be repairing Windows system files with SFC and DISM.

I would try these steps before buying another computer.

Thanks for your reply Danish and helpful information.   The only thing I have not done is uninstalling the July and August Windows Updates because that would render my computer useless because of security holes, but I have good news -- after over a month of frustration and sleepless nights, I think the problem may be solved.  Polo897 made a post recently about experiencing the same issues with daily random blue screens and restarts, and it sounded identical to my problem.   I'm not sure how to send  you the link on that.  After a month of detective work, he found that the problem was due to HP One Agent.  Once he uninstalled this program the blue screens have not recurred.

I uninstalled HP One Agent two days ago, and yesterday for the first time since the problem started on July 14, I had no blue screens and restarts all day.  Nothing has happened so far today either.   Computer is functioning normally.  I realize that it will take a week or so to determine for sure, but I have never gone a whole day without blue screens (sometimes  more than one daily) since July 14.  Something in HP One Agent must be causing this, and maybe only a limited number of HP Desktops have this software installed, otherwise all hell would have broken loose!  Polo897 mentioned in his post that you have to keep checking that HP One Agent has not been reinstalled or the problem will occur.  Thanks again for the good advice.  Windows Updates will definitely have to be uninstalled if the problem returns after HP One Agent has been uninstalled.
