Microsoft Windows 11

My Victus TG02 encounters intermittent black screens and restarts even while sitting completely idle on the desktop. I have already completely wiped and reinstalled drivers using DDU, and Event Viewer only shows generic Kernel-Power ID 41 errors after using Driver Verifier because the unit is losing power too fast. I've done everything you possibly think of. RAM tests, CPU tests, SSD tests, and GPU tests. All that is left now is MEMTEST86. I thought I should bring my problem here before I take my PC to the shop or run MEMTEST86.

Hi  @Yawmanuh

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out! and Thank you for providing such detailed information about the troubleshooting you've already completed. It’s clear that you've been very thorough with the diagnostics, including  driver cleanup, hardware stress testing, and reviewing Event Viewer logs. Since the issue is occurring even while the system is idle and you've already ruled out many common causes, let's collect a few additional details and try some specific checks before considering service or running MemTest86.

Could you kindly share:

  • Does the black screen occur only when idle, or can it also happen while gaming or under load?
  • Are there any BSOD (Blue Screen) errors, or does the system simply go black and restart?
  • Have any hardware components been upgraded or replaced, such as RAM, GPU, power supply, or storage?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

  1. Load BIOS Defaults
    • Restart the PC and enter the BIOS.
    • Load BIOS default settings, save, and restart.
  2. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI
    • Perform the extensive tests for:
      • Memory
      • System Board
      • Processor
      • Storage

If the system continues to experience black screen restarts after completing MemTest86 and the above checks, the behaviour could indicate an intermittent hardware issue involving the motherboard, power delivery circuitry, memory subsystem, or graphics hardware that may require further evaluation.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.

Thanks for the reply, Deep_World. The security check failures happened anywhere from gaming to being idle on the home screen. I get the KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE and KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION error codes. I have not changed any of my PC parts, as it's only about a year out of the factory. I will do the tests you told me to do and get back to you. Thank you!
