Pavilion 21 a255in All in one desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My PC originally came with windows 8 but, then updated to windows 10.
Recently my PC was running slow, so I decided to reset the windows. After reset my keyboard and mouse stopped working. The problem isn't the USB ports as it successfully detects my external HD. The keyboard works during startup which allows me access recovery options by pressing F8.
I tried to reset the PC again. Didn't work
I tried system restore but it says there is not restore point.
I tried 'Go back to previous version' . But it shows error and recommends to reset PC.
I tried 'system image recovery' but it does not detect the recovery image present in the PC and I don't have the image on external device.
Start up repair didn't work.
Safe Mode didn't help.

Greetings,

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Wireless or wired keyboard and mouse?

Have you tried all available USB ports on the PC? Or try different USB input devices if possible.

Very strange. The keyboard works at the BIOS level. Sounds like something is amiss with Windows 10.

Run HP Diagnostics (system and component) to check all hardware. (Link) to HP Diagnostics site.

Regards
