Hi @GO40,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP All-in-One is showing a keyboard error on boot, and sometimes the keyboard, mouse, and touchscreen do not work. Let’s go through some steps to troubleshoot this.

Power Cycle the PC

Turn off the computer and unplug it from the wall.

Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

This helps clear residual power that may cause input devices to stop responding.

Check External Devices

Disconnect all external USB devices (printers, drives, extra keyboards/mice).

Sometimes faulty peripherals interfere with internal devices.

Test Keyboard & Mouse Connections

If your All-in-One has detachable cables for keyboard/mouse, ensure they are fully seated.

For wireless devices, replace batteries and ensure the receiver is properly connected.

BIOS / Firmware Check

Restart the PC and press Esc or F10 (depending on your model) to enter BIOS/UEFI.

If the keyboard works in BIOS, the issue is likely software/driver related. If it doesn’t, it may indicate a hardware problem.

Update Drivers

Once booted (if possible), go to Device Manager > Keyboards / Mice and other pointing devices / HID.

Right-click each device → Update driver.

You can also use HP Support Assistant to check for updates.

Perform a Hard Reset

Some HP All-in-Ones have a battery reset button or pinhole on the back. Check your manual.

Press and hold for 10–15 seconds to reset internal power.

I hope this helps.
