Hi @RA074,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that your HP Notebook - 15 Laptop is not powering on. There could be several reasons why this is happening. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to try and identify the issue and potentially resolve it.

Please follow these steps one by one.

Check the Power Source: Make sure that the laptop is connected to a power source and that the power adapter is functioning correctly. Check if the charging LED lights up when the laptop is connected to power.

Test a Different Outlet: Sometimes, the problem might be with the power outlet. Try plugging in the laptop to a different outlet or power strip to see if it makes a difference.

Remove External Devices: Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, printers, etc.) from the laptop. These devices can sometimes cause conflicts preventing the laptop from booting.

Perform a Hard Reset: To perform a hard reset, follow these steps:

a. Shut down the laptop.

b. Disconnect the power adapter and remove the laptop battery (if possible).

c. Hold the power button down for about 15-20 seconds.

d. Reconnect the power adapter (and reinsert the battery if you removed it).

e. Try turning on the laptop.

Check the Battery: If your laptop has a removable battery, check its condition. If it's damaged or not holding a charge, it might need to be replaced.

Memory/RAM: Faulty RAM can sometimes prevent a laptop from booting. If you have multiple RAM sticks, try removing one at a time and see if the laptop powers on with each individual stick. If you have only one RAM stick, you can try reseating it in its slot.

Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the laptop for any signs of physical damage or liquid spills, especially around the power button and charging port.

Try an External Monitor: Connect your laptop to an external monitor to see if the issue lies with the display. If the laptop boots up on the external monitor, there might be a problem with the laptop's screen.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
