Locked computer

My HP printer did an update and now my computer is locked up and I can’t even use my password to get logged in. It says it’s offline but it isn’t. It’s perfectly hooked to my WiFi. HELP!!

It seems that there is something not related to the printer.  First, disconnect the printer.  Then try a reboot on the computer.  If that does not help, disconnect the power from the PC, then hold the start button for 15 seconds.  Then reconnect the power and try another reboot.

Also need to know much more info on the PC.  Desktop or laptop?  Complete model number and the OS, if Windows - what version.
